To: Interested Law Students
The Peggy Browning Fund is a not-for-profit corporation established in memory of Margaret A. Browning, a prominent labor attorney and Member of the National Labor Relations Board. The Fund was formed to continue Peggy's commitment to the rights of workers and worker support organizations. The Fund's mission is to provide law students with diverse, challenging work and educational experiences in the area of worker's rights. We are pleased to present our 2003 Summer Internship Program. The Peggy Browning Fund will provide 26 funded summer internships in labor-related organizations throughout this country. The work stipends are for a minimum of $4,000 per student for a ten-week employment period. In some cases, as noted in the Application Booklet, the mentor organizations will supplement the stipend. The list of participating law schools, funded organizations, application requirements, and an application form are enclosed. Please review these materials carefully. Students interested in applying for a Peggy Browning Fund Summer Internship position must submit applications both to the listed organizations and to the Fund. These applications must be received no later than Wednesday, January 15, 2003. The Fund expects to notify students selected for these funded positions by mid-February, 2003. Law students selected for our summer program in past years have consistently praised the unique opportunities and experiences they gained. We are confident that next summer's internships will just as rewarding. We encourage you to apply. Sincerely,
Mary Anne Moffa
