The Workplace Injury Litigation Group is a national association of trial lawyers who are
working to protect and promote the rights of injured workers and their families. We have
600 members who represent millions of workers who have suffered traumatic work related
injuries or occupational disease. With members in virtually every state in the Union we
are working to improve state and federal workers compensation and disability rights laws.
We have an extensive continuing education program working to improve our members skills, and a media outreach effort to put the story of injured workers before the public. We publish a quarterly journal. We work with a variety of non-governmental organizations to improve working conditions and lessen the number of work related injuries. We also monitor the federal regulatory departments on such issues as ergonomics, Medicare and social security disability. Our internship will provide you with an opportunity to interact with national political and legal leaders, and to observe and participate in Washington, D.C. policy setting. We are seeking a summer intern to engage in research of occupational diseases, write articles and papers on ways to improve workers compensation, medical impairment systems and to provide research on workers compensation issues to state trial lawyers organizations. We also are working on a law student outreach program to encourage students to take up workers compensation law, and to assist in the placement of students in worker dedicated law firms. Our intern would help in this organizational effort. We are located in Washington, D.C. only a few blocks from the White House and the AFL-CIO. Our location and purpose will provide an opportunity for an exciting summer and will allow our intern to interact with and network with the best workers compensation attorneys in the country.
