Beins, Axelrod & Keating, P.C

Washington,, DC

This is the 2022 fellowship description for this mentor organization. The position has been filled.

We represent private and public sector unions in everything from contract negotiations, arbitration, NLRB ULPs and R cases, court litigation and day-to-day legal advice. We also represent some Taft-Hartley plans. We also do some plaintiff side collective & class action work under FLSA and consumer protection statutes. About 25% of our work is for police unions. The firm was founded in 1980.

2L is preferred, with the Basic Labor Law course, but 1Ls are encouraged to apply as well. Over the 10 week Fellowship, it is likely there will be opportunities to prepare for and attend/assist with arbitrations and/or court hearings and contract negotiations. There will also likely be some brief drafting for either arbitration, NLRB, or court.
The student is welcomed to attend (on paid for time) any such seminars at the AFL-CIO ULA.

Fellows would work both in the office and remotely.

Pay Rate: $35/hour for a 35-40 workweek
