Gladstein, Reif & Meginniss, LLP
Law Firm
New York, NY
This is the 2025 fellowship description for this mentor organization.
Gladstein, Reif & Meginniss, LLP has specialized in labor, employment and civil rights law since its founding in 1976. The firm is organized around the principle that workers and their organizations deserve top-quality legal representation just as much as corporations and large institutions that can pay top dollar for their lawyers. We are counsel to approximately two dozen local unions in the New York-New Jersey-Connecticut metropolitan area as well as international unions based in Washington, DC. The firm also represents individuals and unorganized workers in a wide range of employment matters.
As a Fellow, you will work with both partners and associate attorneys on a variety of matters such as administrative agency proceedings (e.g., NLRB, NYS PERB and OATH), arbitrations on behalf of our union clients, and wage-and-hour and other lawsuits in federal and state court. In addition to research and writing opportunities which can include drafting sections of briefs, we encourage our law student clerks to observe and assist with arbitration hearings, collective bargaining, court and agency appearances, and depositions. We aim to provide an overview of a varied workers' rights legal practice while developing specific skills in a rigorous but supportive environment.
The stipend for this fellowship will be $1010/week for students who have completed their second year of law school and $975/week for students who have completed their first year of law school.
