About Our Honoree Daniel F. Brent As Impartial Arbitrator, Daniel F. Brent has resolved more than four thousand arbitration cases in public and private sector disputes addressing a wide range of disciplinary, contractual, and legal issues. In addition to numerous ad hoc arbitration assignments, he has been appointed as a panel arbitrator in industries ranging literally from airlines to zoos, deciding disputes between unions and management involving aviation; health care; all levels of education, including higher education; municipal, county, state and federal government; laundry; museum; package delivery; pharmaceutical; public safety; supermarket; and transit employers and employees, including serving for more than two decades as salary arbitrator for Major League Baseball and the Major League Baseball Players Association. Mr. Brent is also currently National Contract Arbitrator for the U.S. Postal Service and both the American Postal Workers Union and the National Mail Handlers Union. He serves as a member of the Court of Arbitration for Sport, headquartered in Lausanne, Switzerland, the forum for binding resolution of international sports disputes, and on the U.S. Olympic Anti- doping Arbitration Panel. He has decided arbitration cases involving national and international elite athletes and has been selected by CAS and the International Olympic Committee to arbitrate doping and other drug violations at the Tokyo Olympics this summer.
