About Our Honoree Joel Weisblatt Joel Weisblatt is an arbitrator, mediator and a fact finder in labor relations disputes. He’s served as an impartial third party in over 5,000 matters involving employers and unions in both the public and private sectors. He’s also served in other types of employment disputes including employment contracts and issues involving statutory claims. In the public sector, Joel has worked with state, county, municipal, school board, higher education and public authority. He’s served as a mediator, fact finder and both grievance and interest arbitrator. His interest arbitration experience has involved more than 400 police and fire impasses resolved. Joel’s private sector cases have encompassed a broad spectrum of industries including transportation, utilities, communications, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, health care, textiles, beverages, baking, construction, printing and publishing, hotels and restaurants, and pensions and benefit funds. He serves as chair of the New Jersey Public Employment Relations Commission with jurisdiction over all public sector collective negotiations relationships in New Jersey. He’s also served as a staff mediator with the New Jersey Public Employment Relations Commission.
