This position is located in the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), Office of Board Member Marvin Kaplan.

The primary purpose of this position is to: (1) analyze and provide expert recommendations on traditional National Labor Relations Act matters (2) draft persuasive legal memoranda and draft decisions; and (3) provide clear and effective oral presentations to Board Members.

Pay Scale & Grade: GS 11-12

As an Attorney Advisor (Labor) GS-0905-11/12, your typical work assignments may include:

  • Reviews cases assigned to and originating with other Board members and the offices of Representation Appeals, Solicitor, and Executive Secretary.
  • Studies and analyzes the records in cases arising before the Board for adjudication in order to advise and assist his/her Board Member and the other members of the Board in reaching a final decision and drafts the Board's Decision and Order for their review and approval.
  • Prepares bench memoranda and draft decisions and orders for circulation. Recognizes issues covered by established Board policy and precedent and making well-reasoned recommendations to the Board. Recognizes the policy implications in Board actions.
  • Produces effective written product, both in terms of substance and style, in an efficient manner. Orally presents the merits of the case and participates in the discussion on the caAttorney Advisorse and related matters.
