Overview:
The Central Pension Fund of the International Union of Operating Engineers and Participating Employers (“Central Pension Fund”) is seeking an ERISA attorney with relevant multiemployer pension experience to join its in-house legal department in Washington, D.C. as an Associate Fund Counsel.

Responsibilities:
An ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and possess exemplary research, writing, and analytical skills. The position also requires excellent communication skills, as well as a demonstrated commitment to retirement income security and the labor movement.

Typical duties include: assisting with the drafting and reviewing of plan documents to ensure compliance with ERISA and IRC qualification requirements; assisting with the drafting and reviewing of policies and procedures relating to plan administration; assisting with the review and negotiation of service provider agreements, including investment management documents; in consultation with the Fund Counsel, providing legal advice to the Board of Trustees on all aspects of plan administration; assisting with monitoring the Fund’s employer delinquency control program; advising Fund personnel on plan interpretation matters, as well as reporting and disclosure obligations.

Qualifications:
Candidates with at least 2-5 years of relevant experience, superior academic credentials, excellent analytical skills and strong writing skills should submit their resumes.
