Litigation Associate (1-3 years)

Murphy Anderson, PLLC
District of Columbia

Murphy Anderson PLLC is an innovative public-interest law firm seeking a litigation associate for its office in Washington, D.C. Our firm was formed on Labor Day 2008 to represent unions, employee-benefit funds, and workers seeking justice.

We represent national and local unions in all sectors of the economy, with a particular focus on helping workers organize. We represent unions in federal and state courts, in administrative proceedings at the NLRB and elsewhere, and in arbitrations. Our union practice includes representing union-sponsored health and pension plans in litigation and in compliance.

We also have a cutting-edge wage-and-hour practice, aggressively representing low-wage and immigrant workers who have suffered wage theft, in collective and class actions.

Our whistleblower practice fights fraud in health care, military procurement, and construction using the False Claims Act and similar SEC and IRS programs.

We are committed to community service and expanding workers' power in society.

The successful candidate will be an excellent writer with strong academic credentials and a demonstrated commitment to workers' rights and public service. Federal judicial clerkship and law journal experience are favored, as is Spanish-language proficiency. The firm is proud of being one of the most diverse public-interest firms and minority candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. Our ideal candidate would have at least 1-3 years of litigation experience.

Applicants should send a cover letter, resume, reference list, and law school transcript to Mark Hanna, mhanna@murphypllc.com.
