(“GKL”) is a union-side labor and ERISA law firm with a 30-year history of commitment to union values and the power of organized labor. We represent the entities that provide pensions and health care benefits to working people, including some of the largest construction unions in the region.

 

In this position, you will advise union clients on the day-to-day functioning of their institutions, attend trustees’ meetings, and run union elections. As a new associate, you will gain “hands on” experience organizing, appearing at picket sites, strikes and lockouts and drafting picket language. You will have the opportunity to draft policies and negotiate collective bargaining agreements. Additionally, you may appear before governmental agencies including the NLRB and EBSA, participate in arbitration, and litigation in federal and state courts.

 

As part of our team, you will have an opportunity to work alongside and learn from some of the most distinguished professionals in the labor and ERISA field. You will gain meaningful “front line” experience that will set you up for a long and fulfilling career in the labor law field.

In order to be effective in this role, you must have2+ years labor law experience; admission to the New York Bar and the Federal Courts; familiarity with NLRB work; strong research and writing skills; excellent communication and negotiation skills, attention to detail and dedication to servicing our client’s needs.

Job Type: Full-time in-office (Financial District in New York City), with remote work possible after an initial probationary period.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
