Fellowships & Career Paths: Alumni Perspectives
Friday, October 15, 2016
This is a pre-conference activity open to students who arrive early for the conference. The Peggy Browning Fund is proud to count nearly 800 alumni in diverse fields across the country. The PBF network extends widely and for nearly 20 years has helped shape the careers of hundreds of workers' rights and public intrest attorneys. Alumni can be found not just in international union legal departments, but also as counsel and researchers at union locals, at public defenders' offices and at legal aid, nonprofit and human rights organizations, labor-side and employment firms and in private practice, and in all levels of government, from the NYC Office of Federal Affiars to agencies like the NRLB and the FDA. This workshop will feature alumni from the DC-MD-VA area who will talk about their PBF experiences and how workers' rights advocacy has shaped their career paths and helped them get where they are now. Information and advice will also be provided on how to apply for a fellowship for 2017.
