Streepy Lemonidis Consulting & Law Group + UFCW 3000

Streepy Lemonidis Consulting & Law Group is a small Seattle-area law firm specializing in union-side labor law and employment law. SLCLG provides legal services to labor organizations on a wide range of issues including collective bargaining, mediation, arbitration, training, union administration, strategic planning, government relations, and communications. SLCLG consults with both employers and employees on issues concerning employment law in the private sector, including termination, sexual harassment, bullying, and workplace discrimination. SLCLG also supports a variety of organizations in creating work environments that foster, diversity, equity, and social inclusion for all stakeholders.

 

UFCW 3000 is a labor union representing over 50,000 members working in grocery, retail, health care, meat packing, cannabis, and other industries across Washington state, northeast Oregon, and northern Idaho. UFCW 3000 is a chartered member of UFCW International with over 1.4 million workers in North America.

 

SLCLG + UFCW 3000's shared Fellow will work on a variety of tasks relevant to the practice of labor & employment law, union administration, and diversity, equity, and inclusion training and consulting. Projects will include (but are by no means limited to) research and writing for matters before the Public Employment Relations Commission and the National Labor Relations Board, grievance handling and arbitration preparation, union organizing campaign assistance, preparing and presenting (with a lead facilitator) training on topics related to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and assistance with individual employment law matters. Fellow will attend legal proceedings (both in-person and virtually), grievance meetings, and negotiations and will participate in organizing activity.

 

Office is hybrid remote/in-person with most attorneys working primarily from home. Supervision will be performed remotely, except when specific assignments require in-person collaboration or representation.

 

SLCLG + UFCW 3000 are accepting applications from law students with a strong interest in labor and employment law.

 

The total ten-week stipend for this fellowship will be $7,000.00.
