Sherman Dunn, P.C.

Washington, DC

This is the 2019 fellowship description for this mentor organization.

Sherman Dunn, P.C. is a Washington, D.C. law firm with a national union-side labor law practice.  Our firm represents international, national and local labor organizations across a wide spectrum of the economy, including the construction, utility, manufacturing, telecommunications, broadcast, railroad, security, sports and shipbuilding industries.  Founded in 1947, we have more than 70 years of experience representing labor organizations and their members.

Candidates should have a superior academic background, excellent writing skills, and a demonstrated commitment to the practice of union-side labor law.  Our practice is challenging and our small size provides law clerks with substantial opportunities for mentoring and growth.  We strongly prefer second-year students

In addition to the basic application requirements (cover letter, application form, essays, resume), applicants must also include a legal writing sample and a transcript (when available).

Sherman Dunn will pay more than the established $6,000 stipend for the ten-week commitment.
