Peggy Browning Fund Loses Board Member, Mentor & Friend

We are very sad to report the loss of Norm Gleichman, Deputy General Counsel of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and PBF Advisory Board member. Norm was very active as a mentor to Peggy Browning Fellows and other SEIU summer interns, as a member of the National Law Students Workers' Rights Conference Planning Committee and a member of our Washington, DC Host Committee. His loss will be felt for some time to come.

Norm was Deputy General Counsel of SEIU in Washington, DC since 2002.  He was named General Counsel of the Federal Mine Safety and Health Review Commission from 1996 through 2002, and served as counsel to the Chair of the Commission from 1994 through 1996.  He represented unions and pension funds in Washington, DC from 1980 through 1994.

Norm was born and raised In Los Angeles and earned his B.A. (magna cum laude) from the University of California, Irvine and his J.D. from Stanford Law School.  He passed away while on vacation with his family.

Norm is survived by his wife, Marie Ritzo, and chidren Nick and Eve.  The family has requested that donations be made to:
