This position involves representing the DOL in contested cases before the Office of Administrative Hearings, regulatory agencies, and in district, circuit, and appellate courts. Key responsibilities include litigating wage claims referred by the Employment Standards Service and Workplace Fraud Unit, researching and advising on issues under Maryland’s wage laws (Md. Code Ann., Labor & Employment Article, Title 3), and managing administrative enforcement actions under the Wage Payment and Collection Law and the Workplace Fraud Act. The AAG will be joining a dedicated team of 31 led by the Principal Counsel, two Deputy Principal Counsels, and three Supervising Senior Counsel. This role offers the opportunity to develop deep expertise in labor and employment law, engage in impactful litigation, and collaborate with experienced attorneys on complex legal issues.
